Wow...Update...FINALLY
Ok I'm back to blogging!! I have been out of it for quite some time due to do : many many new newly wed adventures! I don't even know where to start. Wow. God has done so many amazing things in both of our lives as a couple, so many things in our lives with our friends, old friends, beautiful new friendships and rekindling old broken friendships.
God started really working in our lives once we got married. We both started to attend my church regularly. This was especially hard for Nate being that his only language is English, and my church is a Spanish church, with the exception of the youth obviously speaking more English than Spanish. We both discussed alot whether or not to switch to an american church where it would be easier for both of us since my Spanish isn't exactly perfect. I never wanted to leave my church and had a gut feeling that Nate and i should stay at my current church. At the time, I didn't know why or how I even felt that way, I just knew that that feeling of us having to stay at my church was strong and I needed to stick it out, and pray for Nate to feel how I felt.
In the mean time of Us deciding and praying for guidance from God, we started hosting at home bible studies. The home groups were called " Casa de Amistad" in English " fellowship house" . We would invite our friends over every Wednesday night for appetizers, hanging out, and a small bible study. The church assigned us two leaders to lead the bible studies Art and Lea . Both leaders are a part of our church's praise team as well and have been members of the church for a long time. During the time of " fellowship house" it was our responsibility to invite people over. We never imagined how hard it would be to get people to actually come through and attend these bible studies! We even offered to cook our friends dinner, just for that chance for them to come with a open heart and mind of hearing the word.
Nope. The majority of the time it was the youth of the church, or their friends some nights it was two or three of our friends, some nights it was one, or none. Every night though we saw and learned something. Some nights it was something small like a bible verse that we understood better, a life lesson, we felt God's love in more intimate way , we got our first prophetic word*, had unexpected visitors,(lol) , had both peaceful and joyful encounters( tag: Melisa Heredia hahaha) !
Regardless of who came and who didn't we started to realize that God used those nights to minister to us. We learned a lot of what we didn't know, then felt comfortable enough to ask questions about the things we wanted to know more off. The commitment and dedication that we saw in our leaders was so admirable. They were always there, every week not knowing what to expect and receiving us with an open heart and a smile on their face every week for like three months. They always had such determination and strength every week to keep going. All of that empowered us to start a closer and stronger relationship with God.
Shortly after home bible study ended we started attending the youth group services. I had always felt in the past youth services i attended , very like withdrawn, not really into it and not welcomed. But this time it was all the contrary! We already knew pretty much everyone, they were so welcoming and loving and just like..i don't know..accepting. Being that Nate works on friday nights, when i didn't have plans i would just sit at home, I was so happy to have something to do! There is just a closeness in atmosphere (at youth group) that i cant explain. It's like unity and peace. Here are some pictures of the :). LOVE YOU ALL

Mini vay-cay!
Whoo hoo!!! Finally a get away! After a super long summer with non stop work for the both of us!
We went to Orlando! One of our favorite spots! We promised each other we would at least got somewhere that we haven't been. Even though it killed me we didn't go to magic kingdom :(. We want tl for December....maybe. Here are some pictures of our vacation.

Medieval times. This was so much fun. I thought that it would be more orientated towards men but nope enjoyable for both. Good food, even though you do have to eat it with your hands. Yup no silverware. The show was awesome. I can't imagine how much practice it takes the to get everything to look so natural.

They gave us tomato bisque soup. It was pretty good.....first time I had it.

All the knights walking In our red and yellow knight was pretty handsome.

Kool right.

Silly face!
Well on our last day we walked thru downtown Disney and snappened some pictures and made our own wax candle.

This place was so nice. Had every different kind of smell you can think of! And I wan a say had a good amount that were all natural soaps and lotions.

We got to pick three scents.

The colors to the smells we chose matched our guest bathroom perfectly!

Ta da! Our soy candle!

The las olas farmers market..
So while on our quest of trying to do different activities for date days/nights we found out about the las olas market . Online they call it " farmers market" which automatically we assumed it would be all produce. We thought it was perfect since we are trying this whole eating fresh and healthier approach.
It was a little difficult to find, the address is available on website but Nate refuses to use our GPS. He would rather look at a map and figure it out that way for some reason he thinks that's easier than turn by turn directions! It took us about 20 minutes or less to get there. Parking was by the hour at a meter so that was easy no hassle . The market was small but consisted of a good variety of booths. This was the first one we saw! Ceviche! Yum! The guy working it was super nice. He gave us samples of both avocado with scallops ceviche, and mahi and papaya. Nate liked the scallops better. I loved both of them. It's the Peruvian in me :).

Our second booth we saw was an oriental one of teas, energy soaps, lotions, jewelry etc. We got a little slice of home made natural "positive look on life" soap. (If only you could give that soap to certain people you know..and it would really work). The next booth was of vegan soaps. They smelled SO good!! And I've been using the "mystic nights" scent with oatmeal in it and it makes my skin so soft. The couple of this vegan soup company are nice people. The husband is a chemist and a singer. They were telling me about how they never imagined they would become as popular as they are now. Check them out at: www.weltonart.com.
We came across some delicious organic fruit and vegetables for a very affordable price!! You never know how different organic taste than processed. I advise you to try it! U will be surprised!
Just when we thought it was over....we saw...a baker!!

Ahhh...can we say....DELICIOUS! X's 100!!! Everything he made was from scratch original recipe. He's an Italian baker. He told us he starts baking every Sunday at 2am! So he has everything ready for the market at 9am! We got to go bags of almond croissants , fresh multigrain bread loaf, and sourdough loaf. We tried some margarita pizza. It was to die! This baker is amazing.
Right across from him there was a booth of all different kinds of pasta. Not cooked pasta, but dry ready to cook in different flavors like tomato basil, lemon garlic etc.

So far we only tried the spinach flavored one. It was super good. I've never seen anything like this before the day we went to the market but it was really Really good. They also had a little booth of very pretty orchids of all sizes and extravagant colors. We plan on going back to this market soon! We enjoyed seeing, tasting, experiencing everything the las olas market had to offer.

Cooking : )
Since i became a housewife i realized omg! I actually have to start cooking now. Like real homie meals...other than macaroni and cheese and top ramen noodles. So my first thought was..ok let me stick to my Peruvian roots and start with what my mom taught me. Chicken and rice with different kinds of marinates. Chicken and rice in orange,in green, and yellow.
The good thing is all the sauces are fresh. The downfall is how much chicken and rice can you have? So then i started googling healthier recipes. I found mostly salads and some great chicken recipes. Listed below are some recipes both Nate and I enjoy.
Peruvian tallernes verde ( Healthy Green pasta).

What you need:
1 box whole wheat pasta
1 pckg of spinach
1 cup of fresh basil
1 package of " Ole Brand Queso blanco ( in the world cheese section if not you can get the boars head brand in the deli section about a pound and a half.
A pinch of salt, and minced garlic..taste as you add.
(We are not red meat eaters but the Peruvian recipe callls for one flat skirt steak per person to go with the pasta).

All of our ingredients. Ok so you pretty much just throw the spinach, cheese, basil, garlic, salt and olive oil together into your food processor. You blend it as much as you can until it's as thick as you like your sauce. Just keep adding more spinach and cheese until you used all the recipe called for. While the sauce is cooking you can start with boiling the pasta.

We like out sauce a little thicker than normal people do so this is what ours looks like.

Whaa laa!! Nutritious and sooo yummy!
Homemade Chicken Fried Rice

What you need:
1 pack of frozen vegetables ( the one with corn, peas and carrots)
White jasmine rice ( amount depends on how many you are cooking for)
Soy sauce
Sesame oil
4 eggs
2 lbs. Of boneless skinless chicken
The first step is start making the white jasmine rice. Then cut up the chicken in little strips. In a small bowl crack one egg and pour about half a cup of sesame oil. Mix together. Set aside.

With remaining eggs make scrambled eggs.

Rice should be ready by now. In a wok or big pan pour rice, and pack of frozen vegetables. Mix together add soy sauce to your taste. Add sesame oil and egg mix a little at a time. Keep tasting as you mix these ingredients together. Enjoy.

Our first home
Nate and I were very blessed with purchasing our first home in plantation Florida august 2009. We were so ecstatic about finally finding the house that we could really enjoy and call ours. On the hunt for a house was no joke. We never imagined all the little things that we had to consider. Like if the appliances would be up to date, the condition of the roof, And HOA fees. Although we came to learn that a low HOA fee is better than none because you are paying to live in a nice area. A well maintained area too. This is a picture of our dining room before we renovated it. We loved the space! But not the floors so much. Especially since we have a big American bulldog. So we discussed getting laminate floors and a nice chandelier of course! Oh! And paint! Before we had moved into the house, I started a new higher paying job where I met a great handy man mr. Alex! He did our floors and paint for a very affordable price!

Ta da!!!! Our beautiful living room!! We loved loved LOVED the floors and paint!!!! In this picture you can't really see the chandelier. Alex did the whole living room and our master bedroom in 2 weeks! He is excellent!

Here is a before snap of our living/family room. That's our puppy jock.

Yay! We had alex paint one wall a khaki green accent wall to give our home a little kick of color. The rest of the house is that off badge yellowish color that is on the hallway walls.

Our house originally came with blinds. But we wanted our home to look more modern so we had the idea to get curtains. It was SO hard to look for the right colors to match our house. But we loved these. It's somexciting to shop for home stuff. I love going to home stores like bed bath beyond, kohls, sur la table and for good deal home goods!! Oh yeah and there's always target. Although i find the best best deals at home goods. You just have to really dig and find. Our house came sooo nice. Both of us couldn't be happier!
We are still doing some renovations and adding more or less here and there.
