The good thing is all the sauces are fresh. The downfall is how much chicken and rice can you have? So then i started googling healthier recipes. I found mostly salads and some great chicken recipes. Listed below are some recipes both Nate and I enjoy.
Peruvian tallernes verde ( Healthy Green pasta).
What you need:
1 box whole wheat pasta
1 pckg of spinach
1 cup of fresh basil
1 package of " Ole Brand Queso blanco ( in the world cheese section if not you can get the boars head brand in the deli section about a pound and a half.
A pinch of salt, and minced garlic..taste as you add.
(We are not red meat eaters but the Peruvian recipe callls for one flat skirt steak per person to go with the pasta).
All of our ingredients. Ok so you pretty much just throw the spinach, cheese, basil, garlic, salt and olive oil together into your food processor. You blend it as much as you can until it's as thick as you like your sauce. Just keep adding more spinach and cheese until you used all the recipe called for. While the sauce is cooking you can start with boiling the pasta.
