It was a little difficult to find, the address is available on website but Nate refuses to use our GPS. He would rather look at a map and figure it out that way for some reason he thinks that's easier than turn by turn directions! It took us about 20 minutes or less to get there. Parking was by the hour at a meter so that was easy no hassle . The market was small but consisted of a good variety of booths. This was the first one we saw! Ceviche! Yum! The guy working it was super nice. He gave us samples of both avocado with scallops ceviche, and mahi and papaya. Nate liked the scallops better. I loved both of them. It's the Peruvian in me :).
Our second booth we saw was an oriental one of teas, energy soaps, lotions, jewelry etc. We got a little slice of home made natural "positive look on life" soap. (If only you could give that soap to certain people you know..and it would really work). The next booth was of vegan soaps. They smelled SO good!! And I've been using the "mystic nights" scent with oatmeal in it and it makes my skin so soft. The couple of this vegan soup company are nice people. The husband is a chemist and a singer. They were telling me about how they never imagined they would become as popular as they are now. Check them out at: www.weltonart.com.
We came across some delicious organic fruit and vegetables for a very affordable price!! You never know how different organic taste than processed. I advise you to try it! U will be surprised!
Just when we thought it was over....we saw...a baker!!
Ahhh...can we say....DELICIOUS! X's 100!!! Everything he made was from scratch original recipe. He's an Italian baker. He told us he starts baking every Sunday at 2am! So he has everything ready for the market at 9am! We got to go bags of almond croissants , fresh multigrain bread loaf, and sourdough loaf. We tried some margarita pizza. It was to die! This baker is amazing.
Right across from him there was a booth of all different kinds of pasta. Not cooked pasta, but dry ready to cook in different flavors like tomato basil, lemon garlic etc.
So far we only tried the spinach flavored one. It was super good. I've never seen anything like this before the day we went to the market but it was really Really good. They also had a little booth of very pretty orchids of all sizes and extravagant colors. We plan on going back to this market soon! We enjoyed seeing, tasting, experiencing everything the las olas market had to offer.
